EA members

EA has 34 full members representing 34 European countries.

The EA Associate Membership was reintroduced in the EA Articles of Association in May 2010. The criteria for membership are published in EA-1/17 – Supplement 1: Criteria for Membership.

Twelve (12) associate members were accepted by the EA General Assembly in November 2011.

In line with the EA policy to rely on the ILAC and IAF multilateral agreements, contracts of cooperation between EA and accreditation bodies that are located outside Europe and not eligible for EA Associate Membership will be developed only if applications comply with the exception rule set out in EA-1/13: EA’s relationship with accreditation bodies of countries not being members of the EU/EFTA. Applicants will have to meet the requirements set out in EA-1/17 – S1.
